A. C. Lloyd have just signed up to a new initiative.
"Through our membership of National Federation of Builders we have signed up participate in a new Construction industry Collaboration Planning System (CICLOPS)
CICLOPS is designed to substantially improve planning techniques and create better programme control and predictability thereby reducing many random or late work activities from previous weeks. It is a web-based tool that through close liaison with our supply chain enables a structured collaborative approach to programming and monitoring progress. The first scheme to be trailed is our development of 30 houses for Orbit Housing Association at Poachers Pocket. It will then be rolled out onto our other schemes. "
As a company, A C Lloyd are continuously striving to improve how they perform. One difficulty is knowing how well they are doing against other similar sized companies, to combat this problem and help share "good practice", A. C. Lloyd, alongside six other Midlands based construction companies, have founded the new Continuous Improvement Club.
There will be a number of workshops throughout the year where knowledge relating to construction best practice will be pooled so that there will be mutually beneficial to all parties. In this way the companies can identify and monitor Critical Success Factors (CSF) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) together with construction and non-construction innovation to drive up the standards on the sites.
